The BMS retail group was formed back in 2004 when three local retailers joined forces to create the Champions IGA supermarket banner. The company originally started with three sites including Long Gully, Bacchus Marsh and Kangaroo Flat. Since this time the company has successfully manage to acquired three existing supermarkets including, Gladstone Park, Geelong West and Heathcote, which all trade under the Champions IGA banner. The Champions group recently completed its first new supermarket venture with the relocation of the new state of the art Kangaroo Flat supermarket.
The Champions IGA group is an independent company with a focus on supporting the local communities. Annual Sponsorships with the Bendigo Lady Braves and the Bendigo Xmas Hospital Appeal are clear demonstrations of our commitment to supporting local organisations. Champions continue to build relationships with local industries including Hazeldenes Chickens, Castle Bacon and Gillies Pies with long term supply agreements negotiated to secure the long term futures of both companies. The Champions group employs local people with over 500 people employed and all future candidates sourced locally.
