Trade Promotion Terms & Conditions

 

 

1. Promotion Details

Promotion name: Champions Scan & Win

Promoter: BMS RETAIL GROUP HOLDING PTY LTD, ABN 93 090 448 007 trading as Champions IGA (the Promoter), of 3 Wood Street, Long Gully VIC 3550.

Permit: This is a trade promotion lottery conducted in Victoria only. Under the Gambling Regulation Act 2003 (Vic) and Gambling Regulations 2015 (Vic), no permit is required to conduct this promotion. The Promotion is conducted subject to the conditions set out in these Terms and Conditions and in accordance with the Gambling Regulations 2015 (Vic).

This promotion is only open to residents of Victoria who shop at a participating Champions IGA store. It is not being conducted in any other Australian state or territory.

 

2. Promotional Period

The Promotion commences at 12:01am AEDT on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 and concludes at 11:59pm AEDT on Tuesday, 27 October 2026 (Promotional Period), across four (4) weekly entry periods (each a Weekly Period) as set out in clause 8.

Entries received outside the Promotional Period, or which are otherwise invalid, incomplete or not made in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, will not be accepted.

 

3. Eligibility

• Entry is open to Victorian residents aged 18 years or over who hold a valid Champions IGA Rewards membership.

• Directors, management and employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, participating stores, and any agency or supplier directly associated with the conduct of this Promotion are not eligible to enter.

• Employees of participating stores may still shop as customers, but transactions used to claim staff discounts or made on a staff account are not eligible entries.

• By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

 

4. How to Enter

No entry fee applies. To enter, during the Promotional Period an entrant must:

• Spend a minimum of $40 (GST inclusive) in a single, qualifying transaction at any participating Champions IGA store; and

• Scan or present their Champions IGA Rewards card at the time of that transaction, at the point of sale.

Each qualifying transaction that satisfies both requirements above will automatically be recorded as one (1) entry into the applicable Weekly Period draw. No separate entry form, box, or manual entry process is required.

 

5. Exclusions from Qualifying Spend

The following purchases do not count towards the $40 qualifying spend, whether purchased alone or as part of a larger transaction:

• Tobacco and tobacco-related products;

• Gift cards and prepaid cards (of any brand); and

• Tatts, Tattslotto and other lottery or gambling products.

Where a transaction includes excluded items, only the value of eligible items counts towards the $40 minimum spend threshold.

 

6. Entry Limits

There is no limit to the number of entries an individual entrant may receive during the Promotional Period. Each separate qualifying transaction (per clause 4) constitutes a new and separate entry, including multiple qualifying transactions made on the same day.

Entries are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged, sold, or redeemed for cash.

 

7. The Prizes

Gift cards are redeemable in-store at any participating Champions IGA store and are subject to the applicable gift card terms and conditions. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash, in whole or in part, except where required by law.

The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize (or part of a prize) for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to any approval required by law, where a prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Promoter's control.

 

8. Prize Draws

Draws will take place as follows:

All draws will be conducted electronically using a random-selection method that gives each eligible entry an equal and random chance of being drawn, consistent with regulation 59(g) of the Gambling Regulations 2015 (Vic).

If a draw is postponed for any reason outside the Promoter's control, the redrawn date will be published on the winners' notification page referred to in clause 10, together with any other information required by law.

 

9. Notification of Winners

Winners will be notified in writing (by phone, SMS or email, using the contact details provided at the time of their Champions IGA Rewards membership sign-up) within two (2) business days of the applicable draw.

If a winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days of the draw despite reasonable attempts by the Promoter or does not respond to claim their prize within that time, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct a further draw to select an alternative winner, in accordance with regulation 59 of the Gambling Regulations 2015 (Vic).

 

10. Publication of Winners

The first name and suburb (or store location) of each winner will be published at championsiga.com.au for a minimum period of twenty-eight (28) days following each draw.

Publishing all winners in this way — including the weekly $250 prizes — exceeds the strict legal requirement under regulation 59(d) of the Gambling Regulations 2015 (Vic), which applies only to prizes valued at more than $1,000. The Promoter has elected to publish all winners for transparency.

No entrant's full name, address, phone number or email address will be published without their prior written consent.

 

11. Claiming the Prize

Prizes will be paid or transferred to the winner within twenty-eight (28) days of the relevant draw, in accordance with regulation 59 of the Gambling Regulations 2015 (Vic).

Winners will not be required to incur any cost to accept their prize (other than any trivial or incidental cost, such as collecting the gift card in-store).

Prizes are not redeemable for cash and cannot be transferred to another person.

 

12. General Conditions

• The Promoter's decision in connection with the Promotion, including the conduct of any draw, is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

• The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants, and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, breaches these Terms and Conditions, or engages in fraudulent or unfair conduct.

• The Promoter is not responsible for any technical difficulties, including issues with the Champions IGA Rewards card scanning system, point-of-sale systems, or any other technology used to record entries, except to the extent required by law.

• Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot lawfully be limited, excluded or modified.

• To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any loss (including indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death arising in connection with this Promotion or a prize, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

 

13. Use of Personal Information

Personal information collected in connection with this Promotion (including via Champions IGA Rewards membership records) will only be used by the Promoter to conduct and administer the Promotion, including contacting and publicising winners as set out in these Terms and Conditions, in accordance with regulation 59(i) of the Gambling Regulations 2015 (Vic).

Personal information will otherwise be handled in accordance with the Promoter's Privacy Policy, available at championsiga.com.au. By entering, entrants consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information as set out in these Terms and Conditions and the Promoter's Privacy Policy.

Entrants may request access to, or correction of, their personal information by contacting the Promoter using the details in clause 15.

 

14. Governing Law

This Promotion, and these Terms and Conditions, are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. The Promotion is conducted in accordance with the Gambling Regulation Act 2003 (Vic) and Gambling Regulations 2015 (Vic), and the advertising and conduct of the Promotion is subject to the Australian Consumer Law.
